Nico Georgeoglou was born in Athens in 1954. He graduated from Athens College (an Hellenic-American high school) in 1973 and then studied in the Athens University of Economics and Business till 1977. He joined the Greek Navy from 1980 to 1982.
Since finishing high school in 1973, he is working in the family company. He is married to Evita Baltas and he has four sons from 30 to 21 y.o. His eldest son Jason is already working at Elamer, successfully representing the third generation.
Since its foundation in 1946, Elamer has been continuously engaged in the world trade of foodstuffs and agricultural products. It is one of Greece’s largest foodstuffs import agencies, handling annually over 1.800 container loads of various products, worth over 65 million euro. Today it is managed by the founder’s sons, Spiro and Nico Georgeoglou.
Its customers are supermarket chains, distribution companies, packing and canning plants, ship chandlers, as well as traditional wholesalers in the major towns of Greece. Its suppliers are spread in several countries of Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa.
Its main items are Dairy Products, Dried Fruits and Nuts, Pulses, Sugar, Salted Codfish, Frozen Fish as well as Canned Meat, Fish, Vegetable and Fruit products.
